Life Sciences Camp

The Okkie Jooste camp was no disappointment! Coming from a student that usually does not work on camps. Well this one was obviously  a change to the usual routine. Day one had lovely warm weather where everyone settled into there respective dorms, a few minutes after a presentation based on the introduction of the Stellenbosch area where the displayed the areas of the Assegaaibosch Nature Reserve and the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. The interesting information such as how much hectars the reserves are were told and how the management of the area have certain policies that they have to carry out.

Fun activities were enjoyed during the days of the camp and gave the opportunity for peers to meet knew people. Presentations were delivered on fynbos species, Amphibians and Insects either outside along side the river or indoors as power points ( Still as interesting). A group presentation with the fellow peers were done as well based on what we learned.

By the way i cant forget the food was lovely, the staff was friendly and epic and Kitchen duty was awesome. I never mined the early mornings because well we were in nature and i am that nature type of guy.
